Fall cleanup for the plants and turf

Today, I'm heading outside to remove leaves that have any Black Spot on them. I'll check my rose bush first. I don't want the spores of this fungus to get to the soil and create disease for the rose bush in the next growing season. Then, I'll rake my leaves on to the lawn and mow. I always mow at 3" in height and mulch my lawn clippings. It is not recommended that one rake the cuttings away. Today, I'll also be mulching the leaves as well. What great protection from the cold winter coming!
